My AI Clambake scoop went bonkers
In June I broke a massive science scoop on the website for the AI Clambake newsletter: an AI engineer named Tom deciphered Linear A, a Bronze Age script that linguists have been trying to crack for 120 years.
The blog post was tweeted by Boris Cherny, who created Claude Code for Anthropic. Boris's tweet was subsequently retweeted by Marc Andreessen, one of the most prominent venture capitalists in Silicon Valley.
Those two tweets generated a combined 690,000 impressions on Twitter.
Additionally, the AI Clambake story was picked up by TLDR AI, one of — if not the — most prominent AI newsletters in the country, with an audience of 1.6 million readers.
The media hits generated 50,000 page views for the post, which is not bad considering the website launched in March, with zero marketing.
